Description
Euonymus fortunei, commonly called wintercreeper euonymus, is a dense, woody-stemmed, broadleaf evergreen to semi-evergreen plant that comes in a variety of forms. It may appear as a trailing ground cover, a mounding shrub or a climbing vine.
Emerald 'Sunspot' is a versatile shrub with a dark glossy green foliage with a bold central splash of bright primrose yellow. Euonymus fortunei 'Sunspot' will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 1.5m after 10-20 years
Environment
Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Tolerates significant amounts of shade. Also tolerates a wide range of soils and soil conditions, except for wet ones.
Established plants tolerate some drought. It is not particular as to soil type or pH, and is able to handle environmental salt
This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and can be pruned at anytime
Landscape Use
Extremely versatile, Euonymus fortunei may be used as a low hedge or as a foundation plant. With support, it will climb vigorously and is ideal trained against a shady wall.
