Description

Hoya Incrassata Variegata is a rarely found wax plant with beautiful oval-shaped leaves are variegated at the margins. The leaves on this particular Hoya vary a lot in size; they grow 3.5-6.2 inches (9-16cm) in length and 1.5 – 2.4 inches (4-6cm) in width. The leaves are slightly curled at the edges. This vining plant can get about 2-3 feet high with proper plant care during its active growth season, spring, and summer.

The flowers on this hoya are quite small, only about 5 mm and reflexed. The corolla lobes are yellow and have brownish tips and the corona is white. These flowers have a very strong fragrance with a hint of citrus. In one umbel there can be anywhere from 30 up to 80 flowers. They last about 3-4 days.

Environment

Easy to grow & don't require much attention. Hoya do best in filtered light or with lots of artificial light in indoors.

Hoya plants don't ask for much, beyond the well-draining soil and the warm humid conditions ((similar to bromeliads and orchids)

They are epyphite, can be grown in orchid medium or light potting mix with lots of bark conditioner. Hoya like the security of a snug pot, and plants that are a bit root bound will flower more prolifically than those that are swimming around in a giant pot.

This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds .

Landscape Use

It makes a nice hanging basket, but also does really well as a mounted plant
