Description

Bougainvillea Tomato Red is named for the stunning rhodamine red bracts with terracotta shade that grow around the true flowers. It is a free flowing , vigerous, evergreen shrub or vine with clusters of warm golden yellow , papery bracets surrounding tiny creamy-white flowers. The flowers are borne on stems clad with short thorn and dull, wavy edged, ovate green leaves.They do not cling and may require tying for support.

Environment

Bougainvillea are easy to grow and flower if grown under maximum light and stressed with dryness. Bring the soil to a state of visual dryness between watering. The best flowering occurs when the plants are brought to a slight wilt between waterings. When watering, thoroughly saturate the soil until a little water runs out of the bottom of the pot. Growing in a clay pot will help maintain a healthy root system.
