Porcelain Flower

Hoya siariae is a vigorous vining plant with deep green lanceolate leaves & red flowers. It is a very prolific hoya, it produces many peduncles per plant and flowers frequently. Buds of Hoya siariae are not flat, but with angular protruding sharp corners, unlike most hoyas. Just like most hoyas, the flowers are pointing downwards, technically called positively geotropic or pointing to the earth. The corolla reflexes the tips backwards leaving an almost cup-shaped flowers. There is also a slight scent.

The corona of siariae is both fuschia or purplish color. It has a lot of umbels at the same time at different stages of blooming. Ants are very common partakers of nectar of this hoya.

Easy to grow & do not require much attention. Hoya do best in filtered light or with lots of artificial light in indoors.

Hoya plants don't ask for much, beyond the well-draining soil and the warm humid conditions ((similar to bromeliads and orchids)

They are epyphite, can be grown in orchid medium or light potting mix with lots of bark conditioner. Hoya like the security of a snug pot, and plants that are a bit root bound will flower more prolifically than those that are swimming around in a giant pot.

This plant is attractive to bees, butterflies and/or birds .

Landscape Use

It makes a nice hanging basket, but also does really well as a mounted plant
