Heavenly Blue Morning glory

Tropical America

Morning Glory  is a vigorous, perennial climber, with heart shaped leaves. All morning glory plants produce attractive funnel-shaped blossoms of various shades like white, red, blue, purple, and yellow with heart-shaped leaves. Blooming usually occurs in summers.

Ipomea Purpurea is a unique morning glory that will grow to be quite tall; in fact, it can easily grow to be 10 feet tall when it is trained correctly. The flowers are sky blue in color with white centers. The flowers open in the morning and last for only a day.The brightly colored trumpet-shaped flowers have a slight fragrance and are popular with butterflies and hummingbirds.

As a houseplant, this plant will do best if you allow it to go dry in between watering, but if left dry for too long, the leaves will wilt. Check the soil with your finger to ascertain how moist it is. If it feels damp to the touch, then wait a while before watering it.

Ipomoeas need bright sunlight to retain their spectacular colour. Keep it in moderately fertile and well drained soil. You can prune them in summers. Fertilize them once a month in the growing season but Don't fertilize it during winters.

They also make for beautiful climbers for which you can provide them some support.
