Yucca Gautemalensis 'Silver Star' is an evergreen shrub. It can grow up to 9 m in height, with a spread to 4.5 m, it is usually less than 6 m in height. It may have a thick, single trunk or be multi trunked resulting from a thickened, inflated, trunk-like lower base similar to an elephant's foot. The leaves are strap-like, spineless and up to 1.2 m in length. White flowers are produced in the summer, followed by brown, fleshy fruits which are oval and up to 2.5 cm long.
The plant is widely cultivated in warm temperate and subtropical climates. It has average water requirements, and little maintenance is needed other than the removal of dead leaves when the shrub nears its ultimate height.
The species can be grown in a variety of soils and is drought-tolerant. The plant is very hardy, and can handle occasional snow and freezing temperatures
